I apologize for missing this earlier.

If you didn’t rename any files/folder or move any files/folders including the project file before opening the .AEP then this shouldn’t be happening. I would encourage you to re-download the file, unzip, and then open the .aep (I realize this is what you said you did the first time but it really should work if you do not rename/move anything before opening the file).

If, for an unkown reason, it still doesn’t work…you can manually reconnect the missing files. Right click on a missing file in the project panel…select “Replace File”...navigate to the corresponding file in the “2016Election/(Footage)/2016 ELECTION A.E.P./PRERENDERED ELEMENTS” folder and select open. Doing this once should reconnect all the missing files. If not reconnect the rest of the files manually.

Hi! Unfortunately those flag elements are pre-rendered elements. So those cannot easily updated within the project. The originals were rendered from Cinema 4D. There are a bunch of good tutorials available for recreating those waving flag animations in C4D if you are in need of that specific element. Good luck.

Thanks for your purchase. I’m not 100 percent sure what you may be experiencing.

I’d recommend just downloading the file again.

Unzipping the file will give you a folder titled “2016Election”. Inside that folder you will find the 2016Election.aep along with a help .pdf and most importantly a (Footage) folder.

Do not remove the .aep from the 2016Election folder as it needs to look for external assets (movies/photos/etc) within the (Footage) folder in order to load everything properly. When relocating the project on your system move or copy the entire 2016Election folder.

Sorry about that pdulany. I’m actually working in CC now so I won’t be able to save this down any farther. Have you considered doing a trial of CC and using a plugin like pt_OpenSesame to save down a project to CS5? I’m not sure that it would work with every single effect but it could be a pretty decent solution for most cases. Good luck.

You could certainly add another candidate by duplicating one of the two existing candidate comps (and all their precomps). You would also have to loop a section of the music to give you time to feature the third candidate. If you are familiar with modifying/creating projects in After Effects it should be relatively simple to do. This would be a manual process though. It is not included in the project currently. I’m afraid the map is specifically built for US states. While you could copy and paste some of the layer styles for shape layers and replicate the structure/keyframes for an Ireland map, it would basically be building it from the ground up.

So if you were thinking of purchasing only for the map, I would probably advise against that.

But, obviously it is a large project with a lot of different elements that would apply to any election regardless of nationality (icons/backgrounds/motion accents/etc).

I have bought the project, I think there is enough in there to warrant the money. Again, great work. I would like, if possible to change the stars in some of the compositions to a shapes less synonymous with the US.

Is there a straightforward way of swapping the polystar in ‘50 Star spin constant’ to a circle?

If you toggle open all the contents of the shape layer you will find it being driven by a single “Polystar”. Replace that “polystar” with a different shape “ellipse”. Make sure to keep the group structure and any keyframe values the same as the original.

The 2016Election.aep file must remain within this structure before you first open the project as it references the file paths to the (Footage) folder.
