Hi steviespin, thank you so much for purchasing my template. You have to select the feathers layer in the main comp to adjust the CC particular world setting and try changing the direction vector to x,y,z to fix this issue.

In the new version of the cc particle world direction vectors are added on the effect control panel, when the older version was inside the option window.

this is the cause of the feather flying upwards., hope this helps!
