Upon further inspection, it’s an encryption issue. I tried re-downloading the file, and it’s not letting my unzip the file due to the encryption.?

Thanks for your purchase! That is certainly an odd situation, as the main downloadable ZIP file has not been changed or updated since March 6, 2018.

I’m on a Mac and tested the file by downloading it and opening it, but didn’t encounter any issues with the ZIP itself, and I’m not familiar enough with Windows to know what might cause a file to appear highlighted green.

Since you said you’ve already used the project, I’m assuming it’s been on your computer for some time? Has it moved locations, or have you updated your OS since using the project?

Also, have you worked with any other Videohive or Envato items, and if so, are you able to open those ZIPs? If not, it might be a site issue. If this project is the only one you’re experiencing issues with, I’ll repack the file and upload it again to see if that might solve any potential issues for Windows users.

Working with video inside of After Effects can be trickier than other video editing software, however, since After Effects is still a timeline-based application, the concept is generally the same.

If you’re more comfortable working with video inside of Premiere, you could always render the graphics from After Effects with an Alpha Channel (transparent background), and import them into Premiere. We’ve created a tutorial that might help with that.

Otherwise, if you’d like to attempt working with video in After Effects, there are a plethora of tutorials online, including this one, that could help you better than I could explain here

Thanks for the question. The license situation can be confusing, depending on your end use requirements. But based on your description, it does sound like the Regular license should cover your needs.

The only time you would need to purchase an additional license, is if you had a client or separate project different from the one you described above, in which you would be utilizing this template.

Unfortunately, it appears there may have been some confusion. As the item’s description states, this is an After Effects project file (.aep), not a plugin or add-on, which would have been found in the Add-Ons section of the marketplace.

Additionally, I’m legitimately sorry to hear you find the documentation “super confusing”. I actually take pride in creating reliable, easy-to-follow tutorials and help documentation that many customers find incredibly useful. However, it sounds as if the majority of the confusion might revolve around the expectation of this item being a plugin, which it is not.

If you’re able to utilize this item as a customizable After Effects template, you should find the documentation quite useful.

This is an Adobe After Effects template, so you will need Adobe After Effects installed on you computer to edit and render the graphics. Once they’ve been rendered as .mov files, you can then import them into FCP.

Hello! I’m sorry but I’m a very novice video editor and only have fcpx. Do you know of any other avenues to purchase titles like this for fcp? I’ve been searching for these exact titles all over and you seem to be the only one with them lol. However I see them on almost EVERY promo video. Do you know even what else these titles are called (Blocky titles doesn’t seem to get me any search results). Know of any other sites that I can purchase from? Sorry but I was sooo excited once I saw yours and so disappointed to learn it’s not for fcp. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I would suggest checking the Apple Motion category, instead of After Effects templates. Many of those projects are built for use with FCPX, but please confirm with the author(s) that the project will work with FCPX. Unfortunately, we don’t currently have any title projects that work with Final Cut.
