I can not see how to correct this error that everyone is saying is simple. I get when opening file: After Effects warning: This project contains a reference to a missing effect. Please install the following effect to restore this reference. “Element”

How do I restore and is it not included in the download?

Yes, it’s simply a re-linking issue. I followed every step, took a minute to locate where the “Scene Setup” is, but found the solution, then re-linked the files that are located in the “textures” folder that comes with the downloadable file. Just about to get into camera mapping, but the black-screen issue is a very quick fix once understood.

1. Click “Final Control” - on both (yellow) element 3d, click on Scene Settings, 2. In effect controls click “Scene Setup” 3. Locate the specific textures inside of the “textures” folder included in the download 4. It’ll ask for 3 textures, and one backlight

That’s where I’m at so far, not done, but thought I’d post this to help anyone who was missing that piece. Good luck! Stoked for this template. Really cool. Thank you for creating!

The reason why people by templates is because they don’t have enough experience in either making there own or making adjustments to complex Templates like this one. No one wants to be bothered with making all these corrections to fit their own logo, adjusting cameras ECT. Textures as well. Its a nice template but to much trouble to be bothered with, perhaps the creator should have made it more easier and less complicated.

This template is awesome dude. To the haters: if you are familiar with Element 3D there is nothing in here that is complicated. Nothing. Just go to videocopilot.net and work through some of Andrew’s tutorials and pretty soon you will get how all of this works.

I honestly have no idea why there’s so many negative reviews and comments. It may be a bit complicated, yes, but it absolutely DOES work. It just requires a bit of 3D modeling and texturing experience to make it work and you have to use a proper logo that can be masked by the auto tracer. I’m 100% certain it works because I’m using it right now. To those who say it doesn’t work, you must be doing something wrong.

You will HAVE to change the camera path and that takes quite a bit of time. It is unavoidable. Unless you use the exact same HEROES logo used in the demo video, you’ll need to change the camera path to match your own logo. That can get very complicated very quickly, especially if you have a logo with not only words but also complex images.

You will also very likely need to adjust the textures if you use a logo that contains anything other than a rectangular background with text. If you don’t already know how to texture in Element 3D, I would recommend against using a logo other than text.

So yes, this project is for advanced users, but it works great.

I, also, should have read the reviews first. How do I go about getting a refund for this purchase? I’m not a video expert, however, my video guy has stated he has attempted to follow your instructions to fix the file and it hasn’t worked.

Hi. This project is ok. Just relink two element 3D layers.

The screen that should map the footage is not tracked onto the 3d objects at all, it just sits there (no parent assigned). Where is this tracking supposed to occur and why is it’s linkage broken?

I was wondering if my logo had to be a certain file type (i.e. JPEG, AI, PNG, etc)? . I was following the tutorial and did everything as instructed. But when I got to 2:37 in the tutorial (being able to see the footage templates), I didn’t see anything. My viewer was black.

Should’ve read the reviews first. Tried following your YouTube example for relinking. Only problem is there is no Scene Setup button in the Effects Controls Panel for Element 3D. Using AE CC 2017. Please reply with a proper fix or refund.

Looks like everyone who purchased this product has not been able to get it to work. Why is it still for sale? You should take it down and fix all the bugs before accepting money from people. C’Mon Man!
