Hi! great work!, but I would like to have the logo displayed as 2d and not 3d. how can I turn it off?

Yes you can turn the 3D effect on and off.
In the CONTROLS composition select the top layer and in the Effects Controls panel on the top there is a LOGO_3D_ON/OFF, just uncheck the checkbox. 
Hi, tnx for your great work. I only have troubles in changing Santa’s motion line. Even if I change all the specs (Hue, sat and lightness) in the “motion line” tab on the “CONTROLS” panel, the motion line is still white. Any suggestion? Tnx in advance

Try first to set the Lightness to a negative value, -60 for example. Then set the Saturation to 90. Now it should turn red and you can change the color with the Hue.
The motion line is white by default and Hue and Saturation have no effect unless the lightness is negative.

I’ve been having a lot of trouble trying to export the video. I’ve been to SO many adobe forums but can’t seem to get the video quality at it’s best.
I have exported in H.264, RGB, Millions of color, Best quality, full resolution, etc.
Can you help me figure this out?
You can try this:
- In Render Queue click on your Output Module settings for your render
- Set the Format to Video For Windows
- Click on Format Options… and set it to No Compression.
- Now render the video. This will export a very big AVI file (a few gigabytes), this is more or less the best quality you can get, because it’s not compressed, but it’s a huge file and impractical.
- Now when you installed After Effects you probably have Adobe Media Encoder installed as well.
- Open it drag and drop the AVI file inside.
- For format set H.264 and choose HDTV 1080p 24 High Quality.
- Choose where to render the video and press Start Queue.
- This should export a mp4 video with good quality/size ratio.
- You can use the same AVI file and try different video converter software and different formats until you achieve what you want.

greetings, just bought the item and i must say it’s an excellent work but i want to make a few modifications. How can i obtain the non shaking version of Main sequence? or is it possible to get the illustrator version of the whole image? (From sky to the ground?)

Actually all the sources are in a raster format. They are pre-rendered 3D in a 3D package and sadly you won’t be able to edit them in Illustrator. About the “shaking version”, I’m not sure if I understand, but you probably mean the camera animation, which is also part of the 3D animation and can’t be edited.

You could probably use the logo placeholder to display one book and add the 3 of them on the card at the end.
Unfortunately I’m not available for project customization, but a new Santa project “Santa – Christmas Magic 2” is coming soon. You can see if you find it more suitable for what you need. It should be available till the end of this week or the beginning of the next. In the final scene of the new Santa there is more room for content and more time to display it.

I think mp4 format with H.264 is your best choice in terms of small size – decent quality.
You can search on Youtube for “After Effects export mp4 video” there are plenty of video tutorials showing how to do it. Experiment with the settings to find what’s best for you.
About your second question please have a look at the Customization_Screencast video in Video_Tutorials folder.

Sound effects doesnt work. Now even preview
You can check if the sound effects are present by opening Audio composition in Compositions folder. Make a RAM preview of this comp and check if you hear the sounds.
RAm preview yes, not in final file
Make sure you check Audio Output before exporting the video.
In Render Queue click the Output Module Settings and at the bottom there is a check box Audio Output.
It also might be the format you’ve chosen to render the video in. You can try with different format, a QuickTime Movie for example.

do you hear any sounds when you do a RAM preview?
Make sure you check “Audio Output” before exporting the video (in Render Queue, Output Module Settings at the bottom).

How do I replace the envato_logo.ai file with my logo?
Hi there,
After you open the project in After Effects from the menu choose File->Import->File… Navigate to the folder where your logo is an choose it.
Now in the Project panel under ADD_CONTENT_HERE folder open Logo_Placeholder composition.
Delete the envato_logo.ai layer and drag your logo inside the composition.

Santa – Christmas Animation DIY Kit
This is the most confusing thing ever. I have followed the instructions and when I import the file to go an replace it, the original files disappear when I click on them once. At this point, I would like a refund because it is just not working. I am wondering if it has to do with the fact that it was converted from Windows to Mac in AE CS6.

can you try to open the original unedited file and see if you experience the same problem. Do you get any errors when you open the projects “missing files” or something else?
This is the message I get when I open a fresh file: “After Effects: this project must be converted from version 9.0.3 (Windows) and will open as an untitled project. The original file will be unchanged.”
Ok, this is normal. Can you be more specific on what file you import and which are the files disappearing?
