nice work! Just bought your project. Is it possible to make the map look sharper when you zoom in ?
Hello there, thank you so much for using our template!
The map is vector based so you could scale it up, however the bigger you make it, the harder it is on the project file as it starts to chug more when it runs. You would have to go into the template to up the scale of the map comp itself and then up the comp scales leading outwards. I wouldn’t really recommend this unless you are comfortable with After Effects and breaking apart the template. Unfortunately, there isn’t really an easy way to do this though sorry.
Hi,
This is a brilliant template. However I just have a query in relation to the colors.
I’ve changed the land to the color I’d like, however I’d like to zoom in to a certain country, and then change the color of that country only to a different color. Is this possible?
Thanks
Hello and thank you so much! There is a way to do this if you’re comfortable with going past the user friendly aspect of the template.
The steps: - Under the “Customization Page” double click into the comp for “Adjusting Population Points – Advanced” (on the bottom left) - Scroll all the way down to the layer “MAP-Earth” and unlock it and double click into it. - In this composition there are all the continents and they are created as shape layers. If you unlock the layer and expand it then under contents of each layer there are the countries listed out. You can then animate these country shapes into any colors you would like.
I hope that helps! If you would like a quick picture tutorial then please reach out via email on our profile page and I would be happy to email you some images of where you can find these in the after effects template
Thanks so much!
Hi,
Thanks for replying with the walkthrough.
I’ve managed to locate the country shapes, and I can see that there is an expression for the opacity value.
Now what I’m trying to achieve is to have all of the countries in the same color, whilst the globe spins, then as I zoom in to the specific country I’d like the color change to take place. I thought that I’d be able to achieve this by setting a key frame with the initial color, then shifting along a few frames and setting my target color as another keyframe. Whist this works within the MAP-Earth comp, it doesn’t seem to be applied outside of that Pre-Comp.
Are there any additional steps I need to take in other comps in order for this to be applied?
Thanks so much for your help!
Hi! I’m so glad that you were able to go along the steps to find everything! So the only step left now is that the countries have expressions tied to each of them so that you can control the colour from the outside comp. (Sorry, I forgot about this part!)
To break these expressions simply click on the country shape you would like to change and open up “Fill” then “Color” and also “Opacity”
Click onto the expressions that are attached to these and just delete these. This will break it so that way this country is not connected to the color of the outside comp settings. You can then key them however you would like.
Alternatively you can click on the continent and press “u” on the keyboard a few times and this will show you all the expressions that are on the shapes and you can find the ones you want to break and delete them.
This will make it so that you can’t affect the color to these countries from the outside anymore though, so maybe save a version of the file before you make these changes in case you need to go back!
Once again, please email if you need a visual to go along with these steps!
Thanks!
Hey! I emailed you back right away, but haven’t heard from you and just wanted to make sure that everything worked out/ that you for sure got my email
Thanks so much!
Hi, sorry your reply was in my junk folder so only just seen it.
Thanks so much, the extra steps you mentioned got the project working as I hoped, so thank you very much for your help, and for following up to ensure I had received the email!
Thanks so much!
Before I purchase, I need to know if the rotational direction of the Earth can be changed. In preview, it is rotating the wrong direction.
Hello! Thank you for your interest in this template. Yes, you can change the way the Earth rotates. It is a keyed animation so you can just reverse the keys if you need to!
Over 1000 expression errors, please update the file or return my money, all of the controls are broken on the rig
I’m sorry to hear that you’re getting errors. There haven’t been any other issues so this is not normal. Please go to my profile and email me directly (it’s on the right there) so that I can assist you and figure out what is going on. Please be sure to send me a screenshot of the first error you get upon opening the file and also what after effects version you are using. We will do our best to find out what is happening.
Thank you so much and again sorry that it isn’t currently working for you.
too many expression errors, please help!
Very interesting project! Good luck and more sales!
Hello, How can I message you I need the globe in 3D, can i please send you a private message?

Is there anyway to actually use the font used in the video? I’d like to keep with the fun/cartoon feel.
Hello! Thank you for purchasing the template

hello and bravo for your work! Certainly a stupid question but… How can i keep the map with the countries (earthguide.psd map with a lot of colors and countries written)? because i tried to keep it, but on the final comp it is always with green and yellow… Stupid question… I know… Sorry…
Hi! Thank you so much
Under the comp Population Style, where you see the map, just unlock the EarthGuide.psd layer on the left there with the lock, and then right click on the layer and uncheck Guide layer. Then you’ll want to up the opacity to 100% and change the layer mode to normal instead of soft light. Also, on the layer itself, there are some effects. So under effects control, just delete whatever is there, and you’ll have it looking like you want!
If you need more help, please email me, and I can send you a quick screenshot tutorial of the steps up there
Thank you!
Thanks you!!
hello, there is 591 error in the file, nothing is really working. (French version of AE) How to deal with it ? It seems great…
Hello, what version of AE are you using (CS5, CS5.5, etc?) Can you please take a screenshot of the error and msg it to me so that I can figure out why it is happening? The expressions are universal, so it shouldn’t matter that you have a french version of AE. Thank you.
hello, I have CC 2015 here is one screenshot : http://d.pr/i/1lEhn
Hi, I am emailing you a file to test out to see if it’ll work! Thank you.
Will it automatically zoom to a specific location?
Hello! You can choose the location it starts the zoom from. The zoom is already pre-animated, so you just have to adjust it to work with your location. There are detailed tutorials included to make it easy to use. Please msg if you have any other questions. Thank you
Are countries and US States individually selectable?
Hello! You can place the points anywhere on the map, however you cannot highlight certain states or countries. That is something I was recently thinking of adding though. Sorry it doesn’t have it right now.
looks good
