Are landscape photos possible in this project? I see this was asked 5 years ago… wondering if any updates were made…

Hi, yes they are. The project was designed for any photos with 16:9 aspect ratio (landscape format)

The photos can be placed only in landscape mode or also portrait?

hi, you can insert portrait photo too, but it will have blank borders.
