I don’t understand how this works ? How can I write my own text ? Do you have a video tutorial ?

Hello, You need to drag each letter from the projects window onto the timeline, forming your word.

Hello, please check your you on email

Hi, really cool project but is there any way you can share a video tutorial for this project showing changing words, colors and adding a custom letter? It is kind of confusing.

Hello, yes, please write me on email, i will send video tutorials

I’m getting the error followed by the parse error as well. I’m a video editor and should have all codecs. I tried to individually import the letter folders but I don’t see any actual letters, only the white flipper.

Hello, please write me on email. Thanks

Hi, it. keeps giving me the following error. After Effects error: the file format module could not parse the file. ( 45 :: 36 ) it wont let me open the files.. can you help me please??

i fixed it downloading an older version of after effects, so im afraid that its not working with the latest version, i had the same problem as nabuie

Hello, i just checked it on CC2020 and its work fine on my PC, it is strange that you got such message. You can try to import separate some of the pre-rendered sequences. Go to the folder with the project and open “materials” folder. Inside of it you will see all sequences. So select one of them and drag and drop inside of your After Effects. Import all these folders and this way we will find out that the program understands this format and the problem not with the codecs.

I can’t even open the files with this message pop-up: AfterEffects warning: Error with file”. and a second message After Effects error: the file format module could not parse the file. ( 45 :: 36 )

Hello, all pre-rendered fotages are jpg and png sequenses, so it should works with any of codecs on your computer. This error usually means that you do not have some video codecs (for example quick time codecs) and the program cannot write footages with these codecs, but in this template i used only sequenses which is mean that i did not use any codecs. Something wrong with your software. What version of the After Effects did you use?

Hi. I’m VERY new to AE and are also struggling to create custom letter and change the color. Do you perhaps have a instructions video?

Hello, please write me on email, i will send to you video tutorials.

I would have liked to see explanatory videos that demonstrate the following: a) How to create custom letters b) How can I include photos or videos in Custom Letters? c) how to create a display

Are there any videos available on YouTube?

Hello, you can do it, please write me on email, i will send to you video tutorial.

Hi, it is possible to chance the color of the letters?? I tried without success

Hello, use “custom letter” for this. Just put layer with necessary color inside of the placeholders.

Hello, i am sorry i am quite beginner on AE and I have in italian, can you describe me the path where the layer must be added? thank you

sure. click layer/new/Solid (or just click Cmd+Y on MacOS Ctrl+Y on PC) then choose color and click OK

Hi! Can I change the 3d rotation camera?

Hello, unfortunately this is Pre-rendered letters, so you can’t rotate it. You can rotate after effects camera but letters will be flat.

Alex, this is great ! Loving using this. Can’t find the symbols though (I want to create a ’?’, the help file says ”..and symbols in folder “02_Numbers”)” but all I see are the the numbers 0-9 ? I want to create either a blank flip or a ’?’ to day by day reveal more letters. Is this possible ?

That sounds great – what / where is Custom Slot ?

Inside the archive. Project named “Custom Letter”. It was last update, so maybe you need redownload template. Font that i used named ” Calendar Note TFB” you can download it for free in dafont.

Found it, thanks.

what font type you’re using in the newest project?

Hello, its Calendar Note TFB

That would have been nice to have access to the project of the layer “Custom_Letter_Pass_object_2_[0000-0050].jpg” to make changes in the flip itself.

Hello, i’m not sure that understand what you mean. Do you need 3d files of this custom layer?

Yes, I was hopping to edit the number of flips between the first and last image.

Please write me on e-mail, i will send to you cinema 4d files

How can I change the plate color?

Hello, use project “Custom_Letter”. Inside each of placeholders just create new solid with colors that you need, under the letter.

A really incredible project. Very, very well made. A real life saver.

you should really supply a blank one. how are we supposed to use this otherwise. really disappointed that you are asking for more money to supply this.

Hello, now you can use start blank and then the letter flips over. Use composition “settings” for it

Great project. What is the font used?

Hello, its “calendar note tfb”. You can find it on dafont

Hi Alex, is there a way to start on a blank card. I’m working on a project where I need to recreate a traditional airport style split-flap display. The only issue is these usually start blank and then the letter flips over.

Hello. I can do it, but for this i will need to make new render from 3D program, so it will cost extra money. Write me on email, if you really need it.

Do we create words manually? Can you share a short tutorial.

Hello. Yes, you should create your words by puts each of letter one by one.

Hi Alex. Few questions below if you dont mind: - can you change the font type or are these pre renders? - If you want to spell out specific word, do you align each letter and time remap or how does it work? - is the flipper a pre render or is that editable at all? (can you for instance change rounding or something)

thanks

Hello, its pre-prender, so you cant change font. You put one by one each of letters and change position/time/scale and etc. Because its pre-render you can’t change rounding.
